The standby configuration wizard configures the TCP access to the database on the standby system. If there is a firewall for the TCP port, it must be opened.
For the database replication to proceed without problems, a fast LAN connection should be established between the two computers.
You can establish a direct connection via a second LAN card in each of the two systems, which are connected by a cross-over cable. This ensures that the connection is available for the data matching even if the switch connecting the two systems fails.

Please do not use a slow and possibly unstable WAN connection for the link between the master and standby system!
